Five Horror Films Featuring Latinos

Studies show that horror films are predominantly viewed by Latino audiences. There is something about a zombie, vampire or ghost flick that causes Latinos to flock to the movie theaters. It is no surprise then that writer and director Millie Loredo is making her directorial debut with indie horror film Sorrow.

Loredo decided to feature a diverse cast in her film, and Houston-born Latina Vannessa Vasquez takes the lead as Mila Sweeney. As much as Latinos enjoy horror films, though, there aren’t many that feature Latinos in the cast. The following horror films, several of which Loredo studied as she turned her short film into a 90-page screenplay, feature Latinos. Keep reading to find out which horror films feature Latinos!

1.From Dusk Till Dawn

Robert Rodriguez’s horror-crime thriller features several Latino actors and actresses, including Salma Hayek, Cheech Marin and Danny Trejo, all of Mexican descent.
