A filmmaker’s work is never done. Such is the case with writer and director Millie Loredo. Her directorial debut indie horror film Sorrow premieres at River Oaks Theatre in Houston on Tuesday, April 21. The lead-up to the premiere has kept her busy, but not too busy to begin planning her second film.
Millie has always been a horror movie buff, and within the genre of horror lays “supernatural thrillers.” Millie’s second film, tentatively titled In Dreams, follows the story of Stephanie Champion, a young girl who is murdered in Grand Central Terminal. Her spirit lingers and seeks the help of an advertising professional named Stanley to find the people who murdered her.
Every director has a list of actors they dream of working with, and Millie is no different. Below are the four actors she would love to fill the lead roles in her second film. “I would like to work with these actors because they are the ones that best fit the roles,” Loredo said. “A few of my personal favorites are Emile Hirsch and Dean Norris.”
Keep reading to find out what these actors have been up to previously and why Millie would love to work with them!
1.Vannessa Vasquez as Linda Yoman
Vannessa Vasquez currently stars in Hulu Network’s original series “East Los High” as well as Millie’s directorial debut, Sorrow. She has also starred in films like Narca and Misfire. Millie has admired her dedication to the characters she has played and feels she would be a great fit for the role of Linda, the young girl’s mother.
2. Emile Hirsch as Stanley
Emile Hirsch is an Academy Award-nominated actor who has starred in films like Into the Wild, Milk and Prince Avalanche. His aptitude for intense films makes him perfect for the part of Stanley, an advertising professional who is sought out by the young girl to find out who murdered her.
3.Sarah Hyland as Stephanie Champion
Sarah Hyland currently stars in ABC’s “Modern Family” as the high-maintenance eldest sibling of the Dunphy family, Haley, and has starred in independent films like Conception. Millie believes her spunk and tenacity make her a perfect candidate for the role of Stephanie, the young girl who is murdered and tries to find her killers.
4.Dean Norris as Epstein
Dean Norris is most famous for his role as DEA agent Hank Schraeder on AMC’s hit show “Breaking Bad.” He has also starred in films like Little Miss Sunshine and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He is one of Millie’s favorite actors, and she would love to direct him in her second film.
